Monica Cluff is a third-generation Indo born and raised in southern California. Daughter of Piet and Margaret Veerman, both Indos who immigrated separately to the US in 1960, she is a first generation American. She is the oldest of four children. Monica studied computer science both at Westmont College in Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Monica and Cal, her husband of thirty years, love living in wine country on the Central California Coast. They have three adult sons, and one daughter-in-love.
She enjoys playing piano for church, reading, watching movies and documentaries, playing flute in the Santa Ynez Valley Wind Ensemble, and of course, eating! Her favorite Indonesian dish is babi ketjap and loves Dutch dark chocolate with hazelnuts.
Monica loves traveling and discovering history; her hope is to one day travel to the land where her parents were born, Indonesia.
She currently works as a software Quality Assurance Engineer in Goleta.
Monica is a proud Indo, excited to be part of TIP and assisting with the website! She is particularly excited for the new website and logo redesigns and to see how TIP will evolve and explore in new areas. She finds the TIP board to be a fun group of people.
